Karina Quintanilla

Karina Quintanilla is an Academic Advisor for Brandman University and has been a student advocate for over ten years.  As a first-generation college student, Karina understands the challenges of Latinos and first-generation students in higher education.  After graduating from Cathedral City High School, she earned her BA in Spanish at UC Riverside, and returned to the Coachella Valley to advocate for higher.  Karina has worked for CSU San Bernardino’s Palm Desert Campus as Nursing Admissions and Retention Counselor, as well as the private educational sector as a financial aid officer.  She is pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration Program.  In 2015, Karina was selected to be part of the HOPE Leadership Institute as well as being selected as Financial Aid Chair for the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership.   As a resident of the Coachella Valley for over thirty years, Karina is committed to seeing the region and its students thrive. Karina is a mother of two, a blood donor since 1996, and has translated two books from English into Spanish.
