Nachhattar Singh Chandi is the President and CEO of Chandi Group USA. His 24 years of experience in the
petroleum industry and over 15 years of experience in the quick service restaurant business have given
him an extensive business background in international, multi-cultural environments with highly
engineered operating systems.
He currently owns & operates 20 ARCO AMPM gasoline/convenience stores throughout the state of
California, 11 of which are located in the Coachella Valley, 11 Express Tunnel Car Washes, 3 Del Taco
restaurants, and 2 Subway restaurant, managing payroll for 730 employees. He also holds the franchise
for Dunkin Donuts and Denny’s with one of the Dunkin Donuts franchises opened in the city of Indio, CA
this past year.
The enterprise is currently in a growth mode, developing multi-franchise brands strategically located near
his current and planned ARCO AM/PM gas stations, with a Dairy Queen Grill & Chill recently opened in
Cathedral City, followed closely by a new Subway drive-through restaurant. Additional franchise
opportunities are currently in development in Visalia, Indio, Jurupa Valley, Colton and Coachella,
Mr. Chandi buys the land for development, proceeds though the entitlement process, and then builds,
operates, and keeps the franchises. He has proven capacity for successful business operations with the
ARCO AM/PM model, and has long-term opportunity for expansion, both with ARCO and his existing
restaurants (Del Taco & Subway), all of which he is consistently recognized for “Top Sales” and other
record-breaking awards. He has an adroit understanding of commercial banking and holds the majority
interest in a regional bank.
He is recognized as a global leader in retail and development, and his philanthropy supports over 34 youth,
military, senior and community based organization from El Centro to Sacramento, California. He has been
honored with numerous awards recognizing his leadership and his charitable contributions to the
community. Amongst those awards, he has been named “Business Person of the Year” by the State
Legislature in 2013, the Multi-Unit Franchise “MVP American Dream Award” Winner 2014, the
Entrepreneur of the Year for 2015 by both the Indio Chamber of Commerce and Rotary International,
Indian Wells, California and the Patriot Award by the United States of America’s National Cemetery at
Mr. Chandi immigrated to the United States in 1991 and immediately moved to the Coachella Valley. Both
he and his wife Susana, an immigrant from Mexico, are naturalized United States Citizens, have 4 children
and reside in La Quinta, California.
