Melissa Ceballos graduated from Coachella Valley High School (CVHS) in 2012. During her years at CVHS, she played softball and participated in the Link Crew Team. She completed her high school career with a 4.0 GPA and was ranked 13th in her graduating class. Melissa earned the Dr. Carreon Scholarship to continue her studies at College of the Desert (COD).
She also earned the CVEP Pathways to Success Scholarship during her second year at COD and is currently under scholarship. Melissa is scheduled to receive her Associates Degree in Administration of Justice and Liberal Arts in May 2015. She is very proud that she was able to maintain 4.0 GPA while at COD. Due to her academic achievements, she was invited to become a part of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and was invited to speak at COD’s commencement ceremony for graduating with honors.
Throughout her studies at COD, Melissa was active in the COD Alumni Association (CODAA) Scholarship Club and CVEP Pathways to Success Leadership Team. Her involvement in these clubs helped her stay active in college and in community service related events. Melissa is also currently interning with CVEP PTS where she assists with program and event planning. Additionally, she volunteers in Palm View State Preschool where she interacts with head-starters and helps with in-class time activities.
Melissa has been admitted and plans to attend California State University San Bernardino Palm Desert this upcoming Fall 2015. She will be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts with a minor in Criminal Justice. Her professional goal is to become an elementary teacher in the Coachella Valley. She would like to gain experience in her career before returning to obtain her Master’s Degree in Education.
