Deanna Gamboa graduated from Indio High School (IHS) in 2016. During Deanna’s four years at IHS, she was very involved in her school and community. She was a part of the Advanced Via Individual Determination (Avid) program, Renaissance, and The Ophelia Project. These clubs gave Deanna the opportunity to make a difference in her community through food drives and local charity walks.
After graduating from IHS, Deanna enrolled at College of the Desert (COD) where she is majoring in Health Science. She is the first in her family to attend college and is also a 2016 College of the Desert Alumni Association scholarship recipient. She continues to be involved with her church, volunteers in the Labor and Delivery Department at John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital, and is interning with the One Future Pathways to Success Program. Deanna plans to complete her Associate’s Degree in Health Science by the Spring of 2018. She then plans to transfer California State University San Bernardino, Palm Desert Campus (CSUSB PDC) to pursue her Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Deanna’s professional goal and dream is to work in a local hospital in the valley as a Labor and Delivery Nurse. After working a few years, she plans to return to school to become a Nurse Practitioner. Deanna would like to be able to give back to her community.
